Our providers are the facilitators of what we do. We asked our provider Sherry Evans in our Brownsboro Road location a few questions and hear is what she had to say.
Why did you get into nursing?
This article pretty much sums that up.
What interests you most about your position as Nurse Practitioner with 25 Again?
This is information that you are not taught in nurse practitioner school; it truly is a specialty. I have learned so much and I have a big appetite for learning new things, so the entire subject of hormone replacement has been fascinating to me.
What does a typical day at 25 Again look like for you?
I come in a bit early to prepare for the day and begin seeing members at 9 am. I get to spend 30 minutes per day with current members and an entire hour with new ones; this gives us time to discuss how they feel, what they would like to improve upon and we formulate a plant to make that happen. it allows me plenty of time to educate and to get to know them.
Looking back when you started your journey into nursing, where did you think it was going to lead you?
I always knew I would have exciting experiences through nursing, especially having an emergency room/critical care background - you tend to see the most unusual things, but I would have never guessed that I would be a nurse practitioner doing hormone replacement as of today. I have spent over twenty years focusing on the "sick", the "emergent" and the "right now". It has been such an unexpected pleasure to be on the offensive/preventative end of healthcare, rather than on constant defense.
How does it make you feel when members come to you after being on the program with 25 Again and they start feeling 25 Again?
Great! It reinforces that I am on the right path both personally and professionally.
What do you tell folks that are considering 25 Again?
I tell them to come and see me. We will sit down and discuss their symptoms, blood work and goals in depth and if nothing else, they will walk away informed. Knowledge is power.
What are some of the benefits of working with 25 Again?
It is exciting to be part of a company that is growing every day and (in my opinion), changing the way we view health care. This company actually promotes a true health care model, not the typical sick care model that I've become accustomed to.
What do you do in your spare time?
I spend time with my husband and children, camp, exercise and I like to write. I also listen to different podcasts daily.
